About The Owner of Sozo Recovery Residence, Jeanna
Meet Jeanna, the passionate owner of Sozo Recovery Residence, a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom sober living home located in San Bernardino Ca.
Welcome to our Sozo Recovery Residency, our 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom, sober living home in San Bernardino, Ca. We thought it would be best for anyone considering our transistional living home, to know the woman running it, so she wrote the following from her heart so you could get to know her better. Sometimes she does have to be stern, but she is loving and passionate about this work.
“I come from a long lineage of addicts. Drug and alcohol addiction is deeply rooted in my bloodline. I knew at very young age, there is no quality of life in substance abuse. I’ve lost many family members and friends to addiction and when I lost the love of my life to this disease, it was then that I knew, I had to do something to educate, and to help and empower people who were lost and suffering to addictions.
In 2015 I opened, The Lighthouse, my first co-ed sober/transitional living home in Riverside, Ca. and I fell in love with this work.
In 2020 I had a deep calling to the city of San Bernardino in the Inalnd Empire, so I opened Sozo Recovery Residence, catering to women focusing on their physical, mental, social, spiritual and emotional needs.
I love what I do and know this is my ministry. Facilitating the necessary structure to navigate daily routines is the biggest challenge, but the ladies that truly yearn for change and growth, are the ones that don’t mind doing the work.
The successes of Sozo Recovery
Helping women bloom and realize a more fulfilling way of life is the most rewarding thing I have ever done, aside from raising two successful, thriving, empathetic, respectable and kind children. I love what I do. I work to help women with substance dependencies, mental illness/behavioral issues, on probation/parole, their agents/officers, working with case managers, CPS cases, domestic violence cases, temporarily homeless and women in general is my calling. Not to mention it gives me a platform to witness Jesus, what he’s brought me through, and how much he loves us.
I have a heart for this city, and it’s important to me that the women who come to Sozo House, our dear sober living home, learn to be and remain grounded with; an openness to learn, the willingness to make a change, the desire for a better lifestyle, accountability for their actions, and an understanding of what it means to be a good steward. Following established rules and contributing to daily chores, doing the AA/NA work is absolutely necessary, fellowshipping with like minded individuals and following their higher power is key. Ultimately recognizing to rely on themselves is not the answer. It isn’t easy by any means but I believe with a lot of love and the faith of a mustard seed, all dreams can and will be manifested in His name.” - Jeanna, Owner and house manager of Sozo Recovery Residence in San Bernardino, Ca.
